MONOBLOCO, Rio De Janiero’s most innovative and exciting carnaval parade band, makes an ultra-rare US appearance to light the night on fire.

Grammy-nominated percussion collective MONOBLOCO was created in 2000 by C.A. Ferrari, Celso Alvim, Mário Moura, Pedro Luís and Sidon Silva (members of the band Pedro Luís e A Parede). The group currently performs in the annual parade that closes the Rio de Janeiro’s carnival festivities, where they are followed through the streets of Rio de Janeiro by half a million people. Their street parade group is MASSIVE, and for the stage, they pare down to a nimble 16, creating a wall of danceable sound that combines elements of samba, funk & hip-hop.
