BRAZILIAN GRAMMY WINNER VANESSA DA MATA TO PERFORM IN DC AREA ON FIRST U.S. TOUR

Silver Spring, MD: Latin Grammy Award winner Vanessa Da Mata is a Brazilian singer/songwriter with hits such as, “Ai Ai Ai,” “Boa Sorte/Good Luck” (ft. Ben Harper), “Não Me Deixe Só,” and “Amado.” This fall, she will make her debut U.S. tour to promote her recently released DVD special, “Caixinha de Música” (“Little Music Box”), performed live in concert at the Casa Natura Musical in São Paulo.

She will perform with her band in the Washington, DC metro area on Thursday, September 14 at the Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center in Silver Spring, MD at 8:00PM.

Vanessa Da Mata is a powerful performer who represents the energy and vibe of Brazilian popular music. Her repertoire includes original compositions in a variety of genres, including samba, pop, and R&B, and MPB (Brazilian popular music). Her career spans over a decade, during which she has recorded 5 studio albums, 2 live DVDs, and several #1 radio hits in Brazil. She was the headline performer at the 2014 ceremony in South Africa at which Brazil was named the 2014 World Cup host. She was also a featured artist at the 2016 Paralympic Games closing ceremony in Rio.

Vanessa Da Mata received global exposure from her duet collaboration with North American singer-songwriter Ben Harper on “Boa Sorte/Good Luck.” She now seeks to widen her audience to the United States as she embarks on her first U.S. tour in September.
